As part of Mabdeck Release 2024.8 on 10/06/2024, we have upgraded our template generation software to the latest version. The new version (DWS4) uses an enhanced rendering engine, which aims to improve the accuracy of rendering, when converting a template to a document.
See here for more information: https://www.docmosis.com/products/cloud/versions-explained/
The new version processes Libre Office templates in a slightly different way to the old version. This may mean that some templates which were previously valid, will no longer be valid now that the upgrade has been completed. This will only affect templates which include an image placeholder.
As part of the upgrade, Sycous have resolved any issues with image placeholders in templates that already exist in Mabdeck. Statement and document generation will continue as normal, with your existing templates.
However, now that we are using the new document rendering version, this may mean that any templates that include an image placeholder, which you have saved on your device, will now be invalid. You’ll notice this if you try to upload a template to Mabdeck, and you receive an error with the following text:
“The uploaded file is an invalid template. Please make sure the placeholders are correct and try again. If you are still experiencing issues, email the template to help@mabdeck.com”
In order to resolve this error, you will need to do the following:
- Open your template in LibreOffice
- Right click on the image placeholder in the template
- Click Compress
- Confirm the image compression
- Save your changes to the template document
- Repeat this process for each image placeholder in the template.
Once you have compressed all images, try and upload this to Mabdeck once more.
Alternatively, download the template in Mabdeck to get the latest version.
If you continue to experience template upload issues after having compressed all image placeholders, please get in touch with our support team at support@mabdeck.com
