Once a report has been configured, it can be scheduled to run automatically. This will send the report as an attachment on an email, or to a server location. When a previously scheduled report is also run on an ad-hoc basis it will also send the report as an email attachment or to the specified server depending on the schedule setup.
Scheduling reports will mean that you don't even have to log into Mabdeck to review and download information. Simply schedule the report and get the information sent across to you whenever you need it! This might be handy when you want to monitor meter readings coming into Mabdeck, or the status of accounts on a particular network on a regular basis.
Scheduling a Report
Find the report you would like to schedule on the Configure and Run page in Mabdeck. If you have not already set up the report, you will need to do this first. You can find details on how to do this here.
Click schedule to open the scheduling form.
You'll need to choose your query period first. This is the number of days that you would like the report to generate for. For example, if you would like 30 days' worth of meter readings, enter 30 into the days field.
You can also set the number of offset days. This is referring to the number of days after the query period that the report will generate. For example, if you are requesting 30 days' worth of meter readings for 01/06/20-30/06/20, and would like the report to be sent across on 4th of July, enter 4 into the offset days column. This gives a grace period for any readings or payments to go into Mabdeck, so you can ensure that the data you're getting is accurate.
Setting up a Schedule
If you have previously set up a scheduled report, you will notice that you are also able to choose the same schedule from a dropdown list instead of creating a new one. You can also set up a brand new schedule. Click Add to set up a new schedule.
Select the desired schedule name, frequency and generation time, then click schedule to save. This schedule should now appear in the list of schedule options.
You can choose if the report will be sent to an email address when it generates, by entering an email address into the email field, or to a group of users based on their user permissions.
If you have set up a transfer server on Mabdeck, you can select a server to send the report to when it generates. For details on how to set up a server, check out our help article here.
Click Add to save your new schedule.
Scheduled reports can be identified by their clock icon, in the schedules column of the Configure and Run page. Clicking on the clock allows you to view the schedule which has been set up, or delete the schedule you have created.
You can set up multiple schedules on the same report if you require multiple outputs, or to send to multiple email addresses.
