You can now add a Billing Profile to Mabdeck, which combines all of the settings and variables required for you to raise statements for networks in Mabdeck. This includes the tariffs you would like to set, the schedules you would like statements to generate on, and any financial adjustments you may want to charge.
You can step through the Billing Profile Wizard, which will guide you through the process of setting up a billing profile. To access the billing profile page, click the System Configuration tab, then click "Billing Profiles".
Adding a Billing Profile
On this billing profiles page, you can view existing profiles which have been set up, or create a new one. Click the Add Billing Profile button to open the wizard.
Choose a profile name and select your currency. You can also select your estimation method here, and if you would like to review statements before they are published.
On the next page, select the clients you would like to use the billing profile, then in step 3, the networks. You can select as many clients and networks as you would like to use the same billing profile.
The billing profile will also allow you to set up tariffs, and add charges to your tariffs. Enter a tariff name and add a tariff to start adding charges. You can add as many charges as you require to a tariff.
Once you have set up a tariff, you can start adding charges to the tariff. You can choose your charge type.
Consumption Billing - A consumption charge will charge your residents based on how many units of a supply type they have used. It's just like a unit charge. Select the supply type that this will be used for, and the amount you are charging per unit. You can also select your VAT rate here, and enter a name for the charge.
You'll be asked to enter a start date for the tariff. You'll just need to make sure that this covers the date you will be billing from in the first instance. Select the tariff you'd like to add the charge to, and click Add Charge.
Time-Based Standing Charge - A time-based charge allows you to charge your residents on regular basis. This may be daily, monthly, yearly or quarterly. Choose if you would like to link the time-based charge to a supply type (for a standard supply based standing charge) or to keep this separate from billing the supply (similar to an admin charge). You can also specify if you would like the charge to be billed to the owner or the tenant of the property.
Select whether you would like to bill the charge on a pro-rata or flat rate basis. If Flat Rate is selected, it will charge the Charge Amount for every day/month/year/quarter that the statement is billed for. Pro-rata calculates the amount of time the statement has been generated for, and charges a portion of the charge based on this.
Select the amount you are charging per period, and the VAT rate too. You'll be asked to enter a start date for the tariff. You'll just need to make sure that this covers the date you will be billing from in the first instance. Select the tariff you'd like to add the charge to, and click Add Charge.
Capacity Charge - A capacity charge enables you to charge residents based on the size of their property in Mabdeck. Please note that the property must have an Area set up, for you to be able to charge in this way.

You'll see a list of the charges on a billing profile on the left of your page. You can view or edit these at any time by clicking the view and edit buttons. If a charge hasn't been used on a statement, you'll be able to delete it too.
