Credit Control will need to be managed on an ongoing basis, depending on which Credit Control actions have been set up. The links below will advise the different processes for each Credit Control action, and how to manage these efficiently in Mabdeck.
For a more broad overview of accounts in Credit Control in Mabdeck, you can view all accounts in Credit Control, alongside their Credit Control Stages and number of days overdue from the Credit Control page. This can be accessed from the finance tab on Mabdeck.
You can also see an overview of the number of accounts in Credit Control on the dashboard screen. Filter by network or stage for a more limited view of the accounts.
An even more in depth overview of accounts with outstanding overdue balances can be found by running an Aged Debt report. This will give you further information, including account balance, most recent payment and a more comprehensive overview of the age of the individual debts. The Aged Debt report can be run on an ad hoc basis, or scheduled to generate at regular intervals. You can find further information on how to do this here.
Accounts on hold from Credit Control
Mabdeck offers the ability to put an account on hold, so that residents will not be sent credit control correspondence. This may be used for a vulnerable customer where you do not want to chase for payment, or for a resident with a pre-agreed payment plan.
Accounts which are put on hold before a debt is added to the account will go through the usual credit control process and will have their debt tracked in the back-end for reporting purposes. However, phone, email and letter actions will no longer trigger for this resident. This will ensure that the debt can be monitored effectively without causing any disruption to the resident. Flags will continue to be added to the account in Mabdeck for reference to the Admin users.
If an account is put on hold while their Credit Control process is already active, this will simply pause where they are at that point in time. No further Credit Control actions will take place on the account, however the debt on their account will continue to age.
Click the On Hold button on a resident's account page to put them on hold. If you need further details on how to do this, check out our help article here.
You can take an account off hold by clicking the button once again. This will continue the Credit Control process from where it left off.
Accounts with Active Direct Debits
When an account has an active direct debit, their credit control process will work in a similar way to accounts that are on hold. Correspondence actions will no longer generate, but flags will still be added to the account.
The debt will also continue to go through the usual process in the back end, allowing for accurate reporting on outstanding debts.
