What is a band?
A band will consist of a group of properties, broken down into bands based on criteria set by you. This may be the number of bedrooms, property size, or a custom group.
Adding bands to Mabdeck allows you to split tariffs and charges on a network - properties on different bands can be charges at different rates.
They can also be used to compare consumption data across properties more accurately, ensure that your customers know exactly how much energy they are using and that they are being compared fairly against similar users (Peer Comparison). Furthermore, if a property requires an estimated read, the estimate will be generated using the average consumption of properties in the same band. For further details on this, please see our Using Peer Comparison article.
Adding a Band
You can add a band from the System Configuration page by clicking the Add Band button. This will open a setup form, where you will be required to select a client and network to which you would like to add the band. You can also add a band name, which is simply a reference field that is relevant to you.
Choose a band type from the list of options, then add your start date. Your start date will need to cover the start date of the first activity on your accounts at a minimum.
Click Add Band to save the band. It is possible to add as many bands as you would like to each network, however we would always recommend keeping this as streamlined as possible so that peer comparison can work effectively.
Once a band has been added it will appear in the list on the Property Bands page. You can search for a band whenever you need to, or edit band details by clicking the cog icon.
