Mabdeck validates all meter readings which come into the system, to help you identify meters which may not be reading correctly, or may not have been installed correctly. This will in turn help you to spot when a meter needs to be replaced.
Completing a meter exchange in Mabdeck will ensure that any consumption that has passed through the meter over the replacement period will be billed for, regardless of your statement dates.
Enter a final meter reading
Enter a final meter reading for the meter which is being replaced.
Navigate to the property where you would like to upload readings, and scroll to the Upload Meter Readings section of the page.
Choose the supply type and serial number you would like to add the readings to from here, as well as selecting your reading date. This will be the day before the meter was replaced in the property.
Enter your reading value into the Reading field and click Save to upload the reading to Mabdeck.
Add an end date to the previous meter
An end date will need to be added to the previous meter in Mabdeck, so that readings on this meter are no longer billed for, and to ensure that no further readings are added to the meter.
Search for the property on the Hardware and Supplies page, then click show to view all meter details for the property.
Select the correct supply type from the list of supplies, then click the edit cog on the meter which has been replaced.
Enter an end date into the End Date field on the form which appears. This should be the day before the new meter was installed, and the same date as you have added an end reading for. Click Edit Meter to save changes.
Add the new meter to Mabdeck
Add the new meter as normal, by clicking the Add a Meter button on the Hardware and Supplies page. If you're not sure how to do this, our Adding a Meter article should help!
You can enter a start reading for the new meter on the Add a Meter form. Type the reading value into the initial reading field, and set the start date as the date that the meter was installed in the property. If you're not sure what the start reading will be, the engineer who installed the meter should be able to provide this!
Click Add Meter to save the new meter onto the property! Any statements which raise for the property going forwards will take the meter exchange into account, and ensure a smooth billing transition from one meter to another.
You can view historic meters on the Hardware and Supplies page. Click show on a property to view both historic and current meters.
